Change log
User-facing changes to BargeFlow, newest first. Dates reflect when a change first landed in the product.
July 2026 New
- Vessel charter & vetting assessments — a ready-made workflow to assess a vessel before chartering, so vetting and acceptance run as a guided process with fixed steps instead of loose paperwork.
- QHSE inspections, deficiencies & fleet status — a QHSE pre-inspection app plus a deficiencies app to track findings, a fleet-status overview, an answers report as PDF, and actions that send an email automatically once a procedure completes.
- App gallery — install, update and remove whole compliance apps (including individual flows, procedures and views) from a compact gallery, with a translated app catalogue.
- Chart views & duplicate procedures — saved views can be shown as a bar, line or pie chart, and any existing procedure can be duplicated with one click as a starting point for a new one.
- Clarity-first admin — goal-directed first use for new customers, merged management screens, simpler day-to-day and admin navigation, and admins can now edit users' email addresses.

- Flows — chain several forms into one named, ordered process. The next step opens only after the previous one is completed (and approved where a review is required), so a confined-space sequence like risk talk → gas & oxygen measurement → work permit → the job runs exactly in order. Forms stay loose and reusable; a Flow simply references them.
- Workflows inbox — one place where crew see everything they have to fill in. Even a single form is started as a workflow, so there is no second list to hunt through. Each run shows live progress and opens straight into the familiar task runner.
- Categories — a flat, colour-coded taxonomy (e.g. Safety, Cargo, Crew) over forms, flows and views. Re-tag anything without republishing it.
- Vessel management roster — define your own shore functions (Tech Superintendent, QHSE, Crewing…) and assign people to them per vessel. A flow that gets blocked routes its alert to the right people automatically.
- Run-failure handling — rejecting a required step halts the flow (the next gate is never opened after a rejected safety step) and notifies the responsible shore staff; resubmitting resumes it. Optional steps can be skipped instead. Runs can be cancelled mid-flight.
- Per-run PDF archive — every filled PDF a flow produces is stored together in a per-run folder (a browsable folder on SharePoint), retrievable as a set while each document stays individually identifiable for audits.
- Installable flow apps — app bundles can now ship categories and flows, so a whole compliance app installs in one click.
20 June 2026
- BargeFlow marketing site went live.
- Crew experience polish — clearer task context headers, a builder flow visualiser, success toasts across the app, accessible mobile tables, and first-time hints in the builder and views.
- Per-ship consistency — bind crew to their vessel and scope equipment/component dropdowns to that ship.
19 June 2026
- Multi-language — the interface now speaks multiple languages (including Tagalog and Russian for crews), with a builder translation UI, a document-language setting and localized certificates.
- Pooled tasks — assign work to a vessel instead of a person; anyone aboard can pick it up.
- More inland-shipping starter apps (ADN, crew-hours) and ready-to-use demo accounts.
13–15 June 2026
- Calculated fields & defaults — formulas over sibling fields, computed live and verified on submit; pre-filled default values.
- Field validation & help text — min/max, length and pattern rules enforced as the crew fills in, with friendly guidance.
- File-upload field — attach documents and PDFs to a step.
- Lookup auto-fill — picking a record fills related fields automatically.
- Ship-level isolation — crew only ever see the data of the vessel(s) they belong to; assign ship scope and rank when managing people.
- External form fill — invite an outside party to fill a single form via a one-time, task-scoped link, no account needed.
- Forms as process, register or logbook — decide who fills and who sees each form, and whether entries are editable master data or an append-only log.
- Vessels as a lookup source, the binnenvaart starter pack (bunkering with OCIMF checklist, CDNI waste/oil log, planned maintenance) and export/import of app bundles.
- Notification bell, activity log, require-a-reason rejections, SMTP email settings in the admin UI, and outbound webhooks with a REST export.
- Loading, empty and error states across the app, with confirmation on every destructive action.
12 June 2026 Foundation
- The core platform — author procedures with form, sign-off, photo, quiz and approval steps; assign them as tasks; review submissions in one inbox; issue verifiable certificates.
- PDF → digital process — upload a PDF, auto-detect fillable fields, or use the visual mapper to draw fields on flat/scanned pages; completion produces the filled PDF.
- Richer field types — time, yes/no/N-A, drawn signature, repeating tables, and lookup fields.
- Lists, Views & Schedules — lookup registries, saved queries with table/calendar views, CSV export and threshold alerts, and recurring planned-maintenance schedules (calendar or running-hours cadence).
- Conditional visibility and cascading lookups for smarter forms.
- App templates — one-click installable apps and a staff dashboard.
- First-run setup wizard with inland / sea / empty scenarios and optional demo data.
- Offline crew PWA with an outbox that syncs when connectivity returns.
- Microsoft 365 / Azure deployment — Entra ID SSO, Teams tab, Graph mail and SharePoint storage — alongside the standalone Linux option.
- SaaS platform-admin tier for cross-company management, and the maritime template library (ISM, MARPOL, ISPS, CDNI, ADN, SIRE 2.0, BIRE).
